Accessibility statement

This website has been designed with accessibility in mind. Techniques used include logical source-ordering of information, which helps some screen readers read the page in a better order. The use of a pure CSS layout with validated XHTML also makes this a widely compatible and future-proof website.

There is a ’skip menu’ link at the top of every page (which is hidden from view normally). If this site is viewed within a text-only browser such as on a mobile phone, this link will become visible and allow quick navigation through the site.

One thing that was avoided in this design was the use of proportional fonts (scaled relatively). In order to keep the visual layout tight and controlled, pixel sizes were used for the fonts. This means that in Internet Explorer you cannot increase the size of the text on the page. Internet Explorer is the only browser we have found that does not allow basic ‘text zooming’ accross websites. If you havn’t already, we recommend you upgrade to a better browser like Firefox, Mozilla or Opera. These browsers are also much more secure, and have useful features like controllable password memory, tabbed browsing and more!
